DOG TRAINING

About me:

Robin’s Nest was established in 2005. I have cared for hundreds of dogs, 7 days a week/ 365 days a year. Dog Training was a natural transition for me as most hours of my day consisted of working with dogs. I had to quickly immerse myself with hands on/ real life experience in handling and behaviors of all breeds, temperaments, sizes, living situations and adjust accordingly.

It’s not as easy as one might believe going into peoples’ homes and caring for dogs without their owners present. its not always safe and every dog is different and behaves differently when their routine is changed. My goal was and still is for everyone including the dogs to be safe and well cared for.

The more experienced I became, the more I wanted to do better. And that’s when I started to educate myself in training. I have attended many dog training seminars, workshops and classes (and still do) to better myself and learn from those that have been training for decades. I consider myself to be a perpetual student.

I have a true passion for dogs and training. I believe every dog should be trained and understand the rules. Boundaries, structure, consistency, clarity for both human and canine are the key to a healthy relationship with your dog. Dogs that are out of control are in conflict. its not fun for them and definitely not fun for the owners.

I want to help dog owners achieve a joyful life with their dogs. A trained dog will have freedom whereas an untrained “free” dog will have chaos, unpredictability which never leads to anything good. A nuisance at best and dangerous at the worst.

A trained dog makes the right choices. An untrained dog makes a lot of poor decisions and is constantly having to be managed and nagged.
